Dear Parents,
Happy New Year!
Friendship/ Kindness: With all the new friends we have starting this month, we thought it was a good time to talk about friendshipand kindness. We try hard to teach the children to be kind and be good role models, especially to the new students and little ones
Ms. Barbara’s class is also working on the letters M, N, and O. Ms. Dina and Ms. Hortencia’s classes will review the letters A, B, C, and D since we took some time off for the holidays, then begin working on the letters E for elephant and F for frog.
New Teacher: We will once again be separating into three separate classrooms. The three-year-old classroom will be getting a new teacher starting on Monday, January fifth. Her name is Hortencia and she has worked at several local preschools. Her previous directors had the nicest things to say about her. Ms. Jessica and Ms. Valerie will continue to help us out, but neither is available full-time due to other obligations.
Disaster Kits: It’s time again to replenish our disaster kits. In a one-gallon zip-loc bag, please place some comfort food for your child, (anything that does not require preparation). Also include a small toy, a family photo, and a personal note to your child. Please clearly label the bag.
These kits will be stored in a large container in the garage to be used in the event of a natural disaster. You may also include a small flashlight if you would like, but please do not include matches or medications.
Tax Information: I am currently working on your tax statements for 2008, they should be in your files no later then Friday, January 23rd, 2009.
Thank You: So much to the parents that brought in treats for the Christmas party. And once again, a special thank you to Piper’s dad Scott for saving the day at the last minute and playing the best Santa ever.
Pajama Storytime: Is scheduled for Monday, January 26th, 2009 from 5:30-6:00PM.
Happy Birthday: To Makya who turns three on January 6th; Mekhi, four on the 17th; Karthik, three on the 29th; and Poloma, three on the 31st;
Book Orders: Are on the front table and due on Friday, January 9th, 2009.
